Determined to offer our community a fresh and relaxed approach to skincare. In 2017, I finally followed my dream to become a licensed professional in the beauty industry. I attended the Esthetics program at PCI Academy in Plymouth, MN. After graduating, I started my career in local day spas. Quickly, I knew I wanted to start a solo skin care practice to give clients the personalized experience they deserve. I thrive in the ever-changing beauty and personal care industry and love to share the knowledge that I have learned and practiced over the years. That’s not to say I’m done learning and growing. I have not even begun to scratch or, um… exfoliate, the surface of what is in store. I continue to expand my industry knowledge and techniques by attending annual trade shows and certifications. My list of specialist training includes Dermaplane Pro, Lira Smart Peel Solutions, Eminence Skincare Hungarian Facial massage, Skin Classic, and Keritan Lash Infusion certification. My most valuable knowledge resources are my guests, whom I have the pleasure of welcoming into my treatment room. I love meeting people and having the opportunity in this business to be creative and helpful at the same time. Originally, I’m from Mankato, MN, and then spent seven years of my childhood in Maui, Hawaii. Maui No ka ‘Oi! You might catch some Aloha spirit at Niks Skin right here in central MN. I lived and practiced in St. Cloud for a number of years before relocating my home to St. Paul and my business to NE Mpls. I have two grown children, I love music, performance, and arts ‘n crafts of all kinds. I love getting my hands on anything creative.
When I was 11 years old my grandmother handed me a pair of tweezers, laid her head on my lap, and trusted me to tweeze her eyebrows and whatever hairs were poking out of other places. I didn’t hesitate and went right to work. As she relaxed and closed her eyes, I felt really important, and I knew whatever I was doing made her relaxed and able to take a moment. It wasn’t about giving her the best brow design an 11-year-old could, it was about touch, pampering, feeling special, and lovely. I believe that’s what everyone needs more of, and I’m honored to give that to my clients today.
